In our one to one counselling with adults we develop a warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative relationship. This support helps our clients to fully explore and understand what is causing them difficulties in their lives. We then strive to work together to identify and implement new and healthy ways of managing difficult situations. Sometimes current problems are not caused by current life events but by past life experiences. We work with our clients to increase awareness of older, unhelpful thought and behavioural patterns. Recognising, and understanding, old patterns facilitates choice; we work to help our clients choose to put in place alternative, positive patterns of thinking and behaving

The term counselling refers to working on specific issues or life events such as bereavement or family separation and tends to be short term. Psychotherapy tends to look at how past experiences can shape thought and behaviour patterns and contribute to present day difficulties. In practice, both types of therapy generally overlap.
Sessions are approximately one hour in duration and cost €70.
We also provide low cost therapy to students and low-income earners, however there is a high demand for these sessions, so availability is limited.
Our practise is open 6 days a week, our therapists are available morning, afternoon and evening. Caroline and Jennifer are specialist adult and adolescent psychotherapists and have a similar therapeutic background. We work alternative hours to accommodate as many clients as possible.
We ask that where possible both parents attend with their adolescent for the first meeting to facilitate a brief assessment. This also allows the parents and the adolescent to get a sense of the therapist. Therapy with adolescents is on a one to one basis with parental sessions scheduled when required.
