My approach with clients is down to earth and non-judgemental. I believe that it can be very difficult to make life changes without support. My goal with adult clients is to support them to gain awareness and move towards self-acceptance. Therapy gives clients a chance to develop an understanding of feelings and emotions and create a space for change to happen.
As a parent of an adolescent, I know how difficult this role can be. I am also aware that being an adolescent is equally difficult. Having specialised as an adolescent psychotherapist (ages 13+) I have learned that massive developmental changes are occurring in adolescents, which is much more complicated that just “hormones”. I work with both parents and adolescents to come up with ways of lessening anxiety, reducing overwhelming feelings and thoughts, as well as promoting better relationships between the adolescent and their parents.
My qualifications include a Diploma in Counselling and an MSc in Adolescent Psychotherapy. I am fully accredited with the I.A.C.P. and adhere to maintaining professional standards.
